The blades are made from fine-grained, nicely\r\ntempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blades take and\r\nhold an excellent edge. The blades are accurately ground and have a slimmer\r\ncross section that woodworkers prefer. As with all edge tool, they'll need\r\nsharpening before use. These chisels are an excellent value in a good quality\r\ntool. This set of right and left skew chisels are designed to cut cleanly and\r\neasily when trimming tenon shoulders and dovetails, when getting into corners\r\nand when dressing end grain. Blades are ground to a 30 degree skew angle and\r\nhave a 25 degree bevel. Blades are 1\/4” or 6 mm wide by 4 ¾” long. Handles are\r\nstained hornbeam, are 5 1\/4” long, 1 1\/4” in diameter and have a brass\r\nferrule. Overall length is 10 ”.
